Biography

Osagz is a young rapper who is a hip-hop enthusiast born into a family of five being the first boy and second child. Osagz was first introduced into music at a tender age listening to his father’s vinyl which tells a lot in his perception and eccentricity of listening (he enjoys listening to rap music well soul, r’n’b, rock, hi-life). Growing up, he always wanted to be like Michael Jackson , he got more interested into break dancing until the late ‘90s when he picked up DMX’s “And there was X” album, he got engrossed, spending time and money on buying Hiphop cds (previously released and current). At the time Nas, Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G, DMX, Ja Rule, Eminem, Fat Joe, Scarface, Beanie Sigel and a lot of East coast rappers became his fav' Mcs. He also had an eye in the Nigerian rap scene (listening to Swat Root and Trybesmen). It wasn’t until 2004 when he was listening to Mode 9’s “Malcom IX” that inspired him to put the pen on paper.
He recorded and released a mixtape "Tales Of A Hustla …..The Mixtape" through Rhymesville Entertainment(which he co-runs with his manager "Jyde") in 2007 (selling 1300 copies). Though it was low budget, it still managed to get airplay. The mixtape had better reception in Ilorin due to the fact that at the time of release, Osagz was schooling there. The single of the mixtape “where the streets at” debuted on Midland 99.0’s Naija’s Top Ten at number 1 and stayed there for 4 weeks.
Currently, he is working on another mixtape and has commenced recording. Two of his tracks have been released as singles and are available online
