Biography

Born Ogom Enwemnwa in Benin-City, Nigeria, Ogee attended and graduated from the ever prestigious King's College, Lagos before relocating to the US in 1997. It was in KC Social Events, Choirs and end of year events that his skills as a musician were introduced to a large audience as a drummer and singer. After attending UNIBEN and being a victim of the ASUU strikes then, Ogee went to further his education at the University of Wisconsin, Madison (one of America's most prestigious schools for the Sciences and Arts).UW-Madison became the actual birthplace of the artist 'Ogee' who is a mixture of that earthy and lyrical vibe (common in Midwest Hiphop), and the authentic folk and Afro vibe from Nigeria...

Ogee relocated to the Washington, DC area in September 2005 after gaining a lot of experience performing with great Midwest artistes and bands like Dumate, Smoking with Superman, Natty Nation(reggae) and more. These artistes are artistes that have excelled in their crafts and have been called upon year-after-year by such artists as Common, Kanye West, The Roots, Chaka Demus and Pliers, Young Geezy, Femi Kuti and more… to perform with and open for them...

Ogee always wanted to do music for his African brothers and sisters. He believes in the power that music has to actually move a country like Nigeria to the status of greatness that it deserves. Drawing from styles like Fela, Blakky, Majek Fashek and Alex Zitto ... Ogee reconnects with a similar fanbase on his earlier released local smash 'Black Like Me' ft Chike (tribute to Fela) from 2005. Then the street hit remix of the Stylz Plus track 'Drive Me Crazy', Ogom recreated a track 'This Girl (Remix)' that has gotten a lot of online play and performance Buzz. He also got a lot of attention internationally via his spoof track 'Chicken Noodle Soup' ft Senora and Kokui (Ghana)

In 2007, Ogee aligned himself with the Buck-n-Harm Entertainment Group (production) and has since been dishing out tracks co-produced by the Maestro producer Ski-da-Sun. In 2008, they came up with several remix and original tracks from KANYE REMIX (with Ski), ALAYE (a major street hit) and SEXY GIRL

The year 2009 promises to be DA YEAR for this artist with his two new singles 'Show Me the Way' and 'Standing Stll/Cool Out' that have already gotten rave reviews from various entities in the music writing and entertainment fields. Stay tuned to this artist... Stay tuned to Ogee's Place as he works on his Solo project out as he now works with a variety of Producers from Man Mantis to DJ Klaus to Ski-da-Sun to DeeJay FreakaStyle. It is bound to be an unforgettable experience and journey for the listeners
