Artist Bio
Most artists do music for fortune but this one does it for the love. From the Church to the streets to the studio, he has seen it and done it all. Born on 12th july, 1991, David Akin (Sahara) had early musical influences like soul singer Asa, Usher,R.kelly and recently, The dream. Sahara started out as a child singing and playing the harmonica and traditional drums in church while honing his lyrical skills by writing songs in his journal. Buy age 15, He wrote his 100th song "The papers i need". by 2007 he was signed to the Lagos based Destiny Records, before the tragic accident leading to the death of his producer (J.tom) two weeks after his deal signing. He left the label with the only song he had a chance to record. "The papers i need" It was a moment of crisis for sahara when he put a pause on the music and focused on life. He continued schooling and focused on saving money. When it came to fending for himself, sahara was familiar with the life. The artist often being doubted about his abilities in school because he never cared about things of the moment like "the new pair of nikes that came out yesterday" or "the new jordans". He understood the need of sacrificing for the future. often, people misunderstood it as being broke. instead of wasting money unessecarily. he saved up for his musical career without the support of his parents who considered music as a waste of time. Sahara recently turned 18, now a father of a bouncin baby boy, with an album which was done in just two weeks with world class producer A.tema. Album titled (MORE THAN MONEY). The album consist of songs written by the artist during earlier years. The album is to be distributed free across the city of atlanta, courtesy of the artist who did the designing and printing of the album cover himself. The main purpose is to enforce "love for music over money" funny a enough, up to date, his parents have no idea about the album nor the baby.
